Practical Photography Photographer of the Year 2009 - Winning Entry

The theme for the final was The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. This was a really tricky brief for the final - not only having to represent ‘The Good, The Bad and The Ugly photographically, but to produce three images of equal high quality. I also felt that the subject matter should be closely related and not only stand as individual images but work as a set when viewed together. The first object I came up with was the ‘Superbad’ pants and from there it was a case of finding different styles to represent the other two categories, all via the ever useful ebay. The images were shot using a Lastolite Hi-Lite background to give a clean modern studio look and also because my wife didn’t want them hanging on the washing line outside incase the neighbours thought they belonged to her.
